Jia Moderne introduces Designer JinR at FP3
FP3 Luxury Penthouse Hosts Stylish Event
Last week, Jia Moderne, which is located at the Boston Design Center, welcomed and introduced to Boston…for the first time ever…Beijing artist and designer JinR to an exclusive audience gathered for a seated dinner in one of our luxury penthouses.
Not only was JinR herself introduced to some of Boston’s most influential individuals, but her premium “Seat for T” Collection [which includes the strikingly tall and stylish, MING CHAIR, featured in the photo to the left], was unveiled for the first time in the United States as well! And the entire unveiling took place at FP3!
Just some of the guests checking out these amazing, one of a kind, hand-crafted chairs at FP3 last night are shown in the photo to the right (names from left to right):
Boldfacers’ Lisa Pierpont, guest of the evening, JinR [seated] and designer extraordinaire Daniela Corte
The Ming Chair is made of ebony stained Chinese hardwood with a startlingly high back of 2.31 meters.
All of the JinR chairs pictured here and more are available for purchase exclusively through Jia Moderne at the Boston Design Center. Visit their website for more information. [www.jiamoderne.com]
The amazing dinner was catered by The Catered Affair, who presented a four-course menu inspired by JinR’s recipes from her successful Green T Houses back in Beijing.
It truly was a spectacular evening and guests were blown away by the talented JinR and these one-of-a-kind chairs which are works of art themselves!

The Boston Courant Features FP3 Penthouse
FP3′s Penthouse 3 is this week’s featured home in The Boston Courant‘s Real Estate Guide.
Reporter Lise Beane recently took a tour of the magnificent space and fell in love with the open concept, amazing views and sun-splashed bedrooms. She’s also a big fan of the neighborhood and its proximity to everything Boston has to offer.
Here’s an excerpt from the article:
“Just a short walk over the Congress Street Bridge from Boston’s high-end Harbor Front is a hip and happening water’s edge neighborhood brimming with art galleries, development and restaurants.
At the heartbeat of this revitalized Fort Point Channel area, FP3 is an American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) award-winning, new 92-residence condominium conversion and extension with sophisticated penthouses that evoke the new Institute of Contemporary Art. The building’s name, Fort Point Three or FP3, comes from the fact that it is comprised of two totally renovated historic warehouses conjoined with a brand new structure, then topped with penthouses.
Imagine an exciting, one-of-a-kind living space with soaring ceilings, expansive walls of glass showcasing skyscraper views of Boston and extraordinary private decks, so close to the ocean you can see and hear the seagulls. Each penthouse offers its own unique loft-style design.
Located at 346 Congress Street, the setting is at once past, present and smartly positioned for the future. “

The Penthouse is currently available for sale and previews! Contact Danielle Meade for more information or to schedule a tour.
Esquire Magazine Names Menton One of the Best New Restaurants of 2010
Esquire Magazine will feature John Mariani’s annual “Best New Restaurants” list in its November’s issue- and the list is already posted on several ‘foodie’ blogs, including Eater.com.
We are please to announce that our neighbor, Menton, has made the coveted list!
Menton is Barbara Lynch’s newest fine-dining experience, named for a French town on the Italian border, and it’s located on the ground floor of FP3 along with Barbara’s extremely popular cocktail bar, Drink, and Sportello, Barbara Lynch’s spin on the perfect breakfast/ lunch counter spot!
When asked about the inspiration behind her culinary creations at FP3 during the construction of the project, Barbara Lynch explained:
” Because I was brought in at the beginning of the project, I was able to develop very personal and innovative concepts for FP3’s restaurant and retail spaces. For me, the restaurant experience is not just about high-quality food; it’s also about the overall culinary experience – from the right music and ambiance to highly knowledgeable and professional wait staff. I want to challenge people to slow down, relax, and enjoy life. I want to encourage them to linger and learn. What I’ve tried to pass on at FP3 is unforgettable experiences I’ve had myself, which I hope my patrons will also take pleasure in. “
Not only has Barbara left an amazing impression on the Fort Point neighborhood and her patrons; now the critics are singing her praises, too! Congratulations to Barbara Lynch and the Menton team for this well-deserved recognition!!
Want to be a VIP at Menton? Live at FP3 and be treated like family by the fine establishments owned by celebrity chef Barbara Lynch- just downstairs from your new home!
Fort Point Channel: Boston's Newest Destination
A recent USA Today Travel article spoke about the ongoing revitalization of the Fort Point Channel neighborhood.
The author of the article, Rodrique Ngowi, emphasizes the improvements made to this 55-acre landmark district abutting South Boston over the last 3 decades, noting that the revitalization efforts have been paying off and attracting trendy bars and restaurants and Fort Point is now becoming a popular tourist destination. Barbara Lynch‘s establishments on the ground floor of FP3 are on the short list of places to visit while in the Fort Point area:
” Fort Point Channel’s culinary scene is booming too. Notable spots include three restaurants from chef Barbara Lynch: upscale Menton, where the standard prix fixe dinner menu is $95; Sportello (the Italian word for “counter”), specializing in simple Italian dishes; and Drink, a laid-back bar known for creative cocktails. “
Fort Point attracts families with amenities like the Boston Children’s Museum and fun activities planned by the Friends of Fort Point Channel and other organizations in the area.
The author spoke with Gabrielle Schaffner of Fort Point Arts Community, a neighborhood nonprofit group run by members of the creative community. She estimates there are currently about 300 artists live in the area now, making the Fort Point area one of the highest concentrations of artists in New England. Twice each year thousands of tourists are drawn to visit the neighborhood during the Fort Point Open Studios, in which area artist simultaneously host open houses allowing people to tour their workspace and purchase their art.
If you missed the fall Open Studios this year, you can still stop by the FP3 Gallery at 346 Congress Street during regular business hours and view our current installation featuring creative works by two local Fort Point Artists, Jeff Smith and David Moore.
