Spotlight on Barbara Lynch’s Sportello

Located in Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood, Sportello, Italian for counter service, is chef Barbara Lynch’s Italian interpretation of a classic diner. Barbara Lynch is known as one of the foremost chefs in the United States and has received such honors as being named Boston Magazine’s “Top Chef” in 2008, as well as having restaurants on the “Top 50 Restaurants in America”  list for both Travel & Leisure and Gourmet magazines.

Offering a menu of trattoria-inspired Italian dishes for lunch and dinner, Sportello’s lively, casual, Italian spirit is captured in the cuisine, the sleek, minimalist design, and the tremendously amenable artisinal wine list created by wine director, Cat Silirie, who was honored by Boston Magazine’s as “Best Sommelier” four times.

Dine at Sportello for a leisurely weekend brunch, or a stop by for a quick but incredible  lunch at the bakery counter, which serves incredible house made breads, sweet & savory pastries, cookies, and tarts, as well as organic Peruvian coffee and teas. Prepared soups and sandwiches are another great option when looking for a quick bite to take with you into the neighborhood.

Resolve to Live FP3 in the New Year

As the ball dropped in Time Square, with champagne in hand, many of us looked back on the previous year, and more importantly, looked forward to the New Year ahead. We reflected on the changes we wanted (or needed) in life, and determined resolutions in order to make those changes and improve our way of life.

Now that the month of January has come and gone, it’s about that time for us to check in on those New Year resolutions we made. Now ask yourself how are they coming along.  Do you still have a sense of wanting more out of 2011? Not sure if you’ll be able to achieve those resolutions?  Maybe what you need is a change of scenery.  Perhaps a luxury condominium on the Waterfront? If so, FP3 is ready to help and support you.  In fact, here are just a few among many resolutions that can be achieved with FP3 living:

“I resolve to spend more time outdoors.”
Have you seen the Terraces at FP3? It’s where the great outdoors come to life! Spectacular views of the Boston skyline, Waterfront and Seaport neighborhood abound. And great views mean more natural sunlight! FP3 is also one block from Boston’s scenic Harborwalk, which inspires long runs and bike rides, not to mention walks with the dog.

“I need to save more money.”
FP3 still represents one of the best values in Boston. A few studios, starting at $369,000, are still available, and our 2-bedrooms and duplexes start at $679,000. Brand new, modern space for less money is a guaranteed great investment for the future.

“I promise to become more cultured and artistic.”
FP3 has its own art gallery in the Lobby of the building. Live here and you’re surrounded by local and regional artwork when you come home every day. And some of the hippest and coolest galleries in the city reside nearby, along with The Institute of Contemporary Art which is just a few walkable blocks away.

“I’ll eat better and broaden my horizons when it comes to trying new cuisine.”
FP3 is home to Barbara Lynch’s top dining and cocktailing establishments. Drink, Sportello and Menton are on the first floor of FP3, which means you can take the elevator home after dining downstairs. The accolades keep pouring in! Menton was recently named one of the Best New Restaurants in the United States by GQ and Esquire magazines.

“I want to lead, not follow what others are doing.”
The Seaport neighborhood and South Boston Waterfront have been dubbed the hottest neighborhoods in Boston. Louis opened here last year, and the area is now home to great restaurants, art galleries and public spaces. Visionaries have already realized the true potential of this area, which is within walking distance to the Financial District, and at the entrance to every major highway.

“This year, I vow to entertain at home more.”
Our four Penthouses are perfect for entertaining family and friends in an open-concept living area. Arclinea kitchens here are designed by Hacin + Associates and chef Barbara Lynch and are equipped with Sub-zero and Miele stainless steel appliances, and outdoor terraces provide stunning backdrops for spring and summer barbecues.

“I will follow market trends more closely.”
In 2010, 28 homes were sold at FP3. Given current market conditions, on-going demand and interest in FP3, and growth opportunities forecasted for the Seaport area, we anticipate another successful year for FP3.

South Boston Waterfront named 'Hottest Neighborhood of the Year'

South Boston’s Waterfront Fort Point neighborhood in the Seaport District has opened an additional six restaurants, two stores, a gallery, and a salon since the beginning of 2010, prompting Metro Boston to name it the city’s ‘Hottest Neighborhood of the Year.’

The once-barren South Boston neighborhood has blossomed with these new additions, adding to the already popular Barbara Lynch restaurants Sportello and Menton, as well as the FP3 Gallery that regularly rotates artist exhibits. Every Thursday night, the Institute of Contemporary Art offers a chance for patrons to enjoy free music along the waterfront; another advantage of the artistic environment of the neighborhood.

FP3 Luxury Condo at 346 Congress Street

The district boasts more than 17 million square feet of new residential and commercial space that is currently under development, including a 24-acre parcel known as Seaport Square.

“The South Boston Waterfront is emerging as Boston’s newest destination for many reasons, including the artistic community, cultural and culinary destinations, and the proximity to downtown and Boston’s Harbor”

-Danielle Pillion of the Friends of Fort Point Channel

Boston Welcomes its Newest Skyscraper- the Atlantic Wharf

Aerial View of the Atlantic Wharf

Boston’s newest skyscraper, the $550 million Atlantic Wharf, is adding to the transformation in progress along the Waterfront and is part of Boston’s newly dubbed ‘Innovation District.’ The Atlantic Wharf development will offer restaurants, residences, boating tours, and cultural institutions. Among these amenities, there will be four restaurants including two fine-dining options, a couple of casual lunch spots, and a coffee shop, and an abundance of office space.

This will most likely be the last large property built on the downtown side of the city’s Waterfront, at least for some time. Mayor Thomas M. Menino has restricted the size of buildings along the waterfront in an effort to transform the Fort Point Channel into a recreational waterway as an entrance to the Innovation District.

Close Up of Projected Atlantic Wharf Complex

Boston’s new ‘Innovation District’ includes the Fort Point Channel and Boston Waterfront areas, designating the district as an urban setting to test new technologies that will fundamentally change the ways residents, workers, and visitors interact with the environment, while saving it at the same time. Mayor Menino calls the project a “cornerstone” of the city’s efforts to create the transformation by adding start-up companies that provide citizens with new job opportunities with a range of skill levels.

“A new approach is called for on the Waterfront – one that is both more deliberate and more experimental…  The massive expanse of the South Boston Waterfront, with its existing knowledge base, opportunity for growth, and world-class infrastructure is ripe to produce world-class products and services.”

-Mayor Thomas M. Menino

The 31-story complex is within walking distance of  FP3′s Residences, Restaurants, and Gallery. The addition of the Atlantic Wharf development is just another great bonus to living in the Fort Point Neighborhood.

If you’re interested in living in this exciting new district contact FP3 to tour our loft-style condos, terrace homes, and penthouse residences.
